Michael and Vanessa Wright. We were married at Idyllwild Community Church in August 2022. We have one little girl and another one on the way. We both moved from Hemet in 2017. We went from traveling in our RV to permanent full-time residents in Idyllwild.
I am taking classes through Liberty University to become a pastor while working in the Church office. Vanessa works from home and takes care of our daughter.
Dick & Nancy Beggs. We met in college in Aurora, Illinois. After Dick graduated, we were married and moved to Idyllwild to manage Camp Maranatha. We were a perfect fit. We didn’t realize until later how God had been preparing both of us for Christian Camping Ministry. In addition to a business degree, Dick had experience in construction and repair. For me, I had grown up at Camp Maranatha in summer camps, youth retreats, and as a camp counselor. It is where I dedicated my life to full-time Christian Service.
We eventually retired, and our grandson Brian manages the Camp. Now we spend December through April in Florida, the home of Dick’s three siblings and college friends. The other months of the year we spend in Idyllwild with friends and our three children and their families--10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren in Southern California. God continues to bless us. We are grateful every day for His goodness, grace, faithfulness, and unconditional love.
We attend the Idyllwild Community Church because It is truly a welcoming church family. Sunday morning music includes a mix of hymns and new worship songs. We have a variety of very gifted musicians…in-house and from Idyllwild Arts Academy. Preaching from the Word has always been a priority at ICC. Pastor Bob’s sermons focus on Biblical scripture and are always informative, encouraging, and challenging. We love worshiping with longtime friends and look forward to meeting new friends every week.
