Kerry Campbell
Elder
I was born and raised at the China Lake Navy Base and first came to Idyllwild in 1955 with my parents and sister. We camped at the county park and attended a summer session of Idyllwild Arts. I went on to attend UC Davis as a biological Sciences major.
I met and married Krieg, who was a summer ranger in Idyllwild during his college years. I was a stay-at-home mom who led Girl Scouts for 14 years, volunteered, and substituted at the elementary school. Then I was a bookkeeper for a Christian organization, and lastly a FEMA individual assistance worker.
Krieg and I started attending the Idyllwild Church in 1977. We were active in Session, deacons, vacation Bible school, and retreats. It is here that I grew in my faith, understanding, and love of Jesus and the Bible. Sad to say, Krieg passed in 2017, and I graduated to the life of a widow. It is another journey. I now enjoy time with our three children, their spouses, and the 10 grandchildren, hiking, sewing, knitting, Bible study, small group, and women’s Bible study.
