A Gift. The birth of a baby is one of the most blessed and life-changing moments in life--a gift from God.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! (Psalm 127:3)
Baby Dedication. A baby dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and sometimes entire families, make a commitment before the Lord to raise their child in a Godly manner until the child can make a decision on their own to follow God. This is rooted in Scripture:
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. . . .You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (Deut. 6:4-7)
